From Wednesday 1 February 2023, it is illegal for businesses and organisations in Victoria to sell or distribute single-use plastic items such as straws, plates, cutlery, drink stirrers, cotton bud sticks, and expanded polystyrene food service items and drink containers.
Consider offering reusable or alternative materials instead.
These items contribute to third of the litter in our environment and can harm wildlife, contaminate food and water, and are difficult and costly to recycle.
